TUAFC is delighted to announce the double signing of defender Chinwike Okoli and winger Dillon De Silva.

Towering centre-back Chinwike arrives at Plainmoor on a loan deal from Championship side Millwall, whilst Sri Lankan international Dillon joins United on a similar deal from fellow second-tier side Queens Park Rangers.

Manager Gary Johnson was delighted to get both of his new additions on board, ahead of the long trip to York City, with Okoli’s signing well-timed, following an injury to Ross Marshall in the 2-3 defeat at home to Maidenhead.

“Everybody is looking for a 6ft 4in quick centre-back and Chinwike or ‘Chin’ to his friends, fits the bill to add to our group of centre-halves competing for a place.

“With Ross Marshall probably out for some weeks, it was a timely signing for us, and for a player with great potential. We welcome Chin, who will be a big asset for our squad and we wish him well and hope he enjoys his stay with us.”

With Keiron Evans also leaving the field through injury against Maidenhead, Johnson also reacted quickly to plugging that gap, with De Silva looking to follow in the same footsteps of recent QPR loan favourites Sinclair Armstrong and Stephen Duke-McKenna.

“Obviously with Kieron being injured, we needed to bring in another wide attacking player. Kieron Evans will be out for quite a long period of time, so we had our eye on Dillon De Silva for a month or so now and got the opportunity to bring him into the squad.

“He’s a Sri Lankan international who’s quick and direct, and we’re pleased to welcome him into our dressing room.”

In other player news, Exeter City winger Nelson Iseguan has returned to his parent club, after joining Torquay on loan in August.
