Torquay United AFC and Torbay Council’s Director of Public Health have mutually decided that under current circumstances, face coverings will remain mandatory for the match with Notts County this Saturday.

We recognise this may be disappointing but the virus is still in the Bay and the risk of variants is real. The Delta (previously known as Indian) variant has been recorded in the South West including Torbay, and evidence shows it spreads more easily between people and there may be greater risk of hospitalisation.

We are aware that a number of televised games have shown spectators not wearing face coverings. Some of these were national trials and others may be local decision making.

After so much work by everyone to keep infection levels low in Torbay, we ask you to support our decision to continue to protect you and all Torbay residents, and help keep cases down.
