With the whole nation set to cheer the Lionesses on to World Cup glory on Sunday, TUWFC Club Captain Danni Wyatt is eagerly counting down the hours to the biggest women’s match in English football history.

“I’ve not stopped thinking about it, and it means the absolute world,” said TUAFC’s #HerGameToo Ambassador.

“I remember the last World Cup and the heartbreak, and the one before that. I remember growing up and watching this England Women’s team go from strength to strength.

I think Sarina Wiegman asked ‘Am I in a fairytale?’, and I think we all are. It’s unreal what this England team has done.”

With England appearing in their second successive major final, following their European Championship success last summer, Danni is keen to appreciate the moment the Lionesses are enjoying at this time.

“I remember being at the Euros last year and living in the moment, and I couldn’t believe we’d got that far. I’d have never have dreamed that a year down the line we’d be in this position again. I think they’ve blown everyone away – and bought everyone together!

“For it to be football, my biggest passion, and for people I don’t even know – that couldn’t care less about football – really care about this, it’s lovely to see, and it’s lovely to share with like-minded people as well.

“I can’t put into words how good it is!”

Watch The Action Live In Boots & Laces On Sunday From 10:30am!

On Sunday morning from 10:30am, Torquay United AFC will be giving the local community the chance to come together and and cheer the Lionesses onto victory, with the full match being shown live in Boots & Laces (11am kick-off).

To help get the party started, Happy Hour prices will be available of selected drinks, whilst bacon rolls will also be on offer for just £2.50.

Danni sees this as another opportunity for the Yellow Army to come together for one more – potentially very special – occasion, with TUWFC scheduled to get their own inaugural National League campaign underway just a few hours later away at Portishead Town (2pm KO).

“I’m in touch with a lot of the local Torquay United fans on social media, they’ve got all the info, and it’s great to see the Torquay United fans backing the England Women’s side, as they should be, as they are the spirit of this country at the moment. I hope they all have a great day down at Boots & Laces, and everyone comes together for one last time. Hopefully it’s victorious for the England Women.

“The nerves are kicking in for everyone. We have England Women in the morning, and Torquay United’s opening National League fixture in the afternoon. It’ll be a busy day for all involved, and hopefully it’s a double-header, with England coming back as World Champions, and us coming back with our first three points in the National League.”
