Saturday’s South Devon College-sponsored Community Day proved to be a memorable occasion for everyone, as a packed-out Wollens Terrace saw The Gulls secure a comprehensive victory at Plainmoor.

With hundreds of members of local community groups making the most of the chance to experience live professional football in the Bay on Torquay United’s latest Community Day, Gary Johnson’s side certainly rose to the occasion, coming from a goal down to chalk up their biggest league win of the 2023/24 season so far.

Everyone at TUAFC would like to extend its sincere thanks to South Devon College for supporting this event, and the Club hopes that everybody that attended enjoyed both the match, and the fantastic atmosphere that all our new supporters generated!

United’s Supporter Liaison Officer, Dominic Mee summed up the mood of many inside Plainmoor at the weekend.

“Saturday’s match was a wonderful occasion for everyone involved, and to win 5-1 made the afternoon even more special!

“It was fantastic to see so many local grassroots and community groups taking advantage of the offer, and the Club would like to extend its thanks to South Devon College for sponsoring this initiative.

“This is further evidence of our superb partnership with the College, and Saturday was the perfect example of the fantastic results we can achieve when we work together.”
