Sunday afternoon saw the launch of the Club’s latest community initiative at Boots & Laces, Her Gulls Too.

It was a great day for supporters to enjoy the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Final being shown live on the big screen at Boots & Laces, in an eventful game which saw Chelsea secure the trophy for the third successive season with a 1-o victory over Manchester United at a record-breaking, sold-out Wembley Stadium.

With a number of Club representatives and members of United’s title-winning Women’s team in attendance, supporters were able to socialise and pitch ideas for what they would like to take place at future Her Gulls Too events, whilst also enjoying the action of the Women’s FA Cup Final.

The Club would like to place on record its thanks to those who attended the first event and provided the Club with their feedback to help plan future events, with further details of the of the next session to be announced in due course.

About Her Gulls Too

The launch of our new Her Gulls Too group is the latest initiative to come from the Club’s partnership with #HerGameToo. Initial ideas for upcoming events include, Q&A sessions with members of United’s Women’s team, playing skittles in the famous Boots & Laces alleys, as well as socialising with other like-minded female Gulls fans.

Back in November 2021 TUAFC became the first Club to offer a whole stand to the Her Game Too campaign, when 1,000 free tickets were made available for females. Following this initiative to launch the Club’s partnership with the non-profit organisation, on behalf of the Club, Director Mel Hayman and Media Coordinator Jess Francis were awarded the #HerGameToo Hero Award for November 2021.

TUAFC is proud to be partnered with #HerGameToo, and with 60% of the Club’s non-playing staff being female, Torquay United hopes to continue to play a role in this initiative, with the introduction of TUAFC’s ‘Her Gulls Too’ events following on from TUWFC Captain Danni Wyatt being announced as the Club’s #HerGameToo Ambassador in February.
