Will Jenkins Davies and Luke Pearce have returned to their parent clubs, following their loan spells at Plainmoor.

Plymouth Argyle loanee Will Jenkins Davies has been a regular in the United starting line-up during the opening two months of the 2023/24 campaign, and scored his first goal for The Gulls recently at Hemel Hempstead, prior to leaving the field early after sustaining an unfortunate impact injury.

“We’re gutted to lose Will at this time,” said Gulls boss Gary Johnson.

“He took a knock at Hemel Hempstead, then he scored his goal, but then he couldn’t carry on. It’s an impact injury, and a medium-to-long-term injury for him, so he’s gone back.

“We were very happy with what he did with us, and we hope to see him again when he’s fit.”

Southampton forward Luke Pearce, meanwhile, returns to The Saints following the completion of his one-month loan deal, having made four substitute appearances for Johnson’s side, in addition to netting for Torquay in last week’s Devon St. Luke’s Challenge Cup match at Ivybridge.

After confirming Pearce would be joining Jenkins Davies in returning to his parent Club, Johnson took time to express his gratitude to both Championship sides for allowing their respective players to continue their development on the English Riviera.

“Luke Pearce has gone back to Southampton after his month’s loan. We thank him for his service, and wish him well for the future.

“We have a great relationship with Plymouth and Southampton, and we thank them for helping us with these two players.”
