Ahead of another busy week for the side, Kevin Wills’ U18s were in impressive form last weekend, as they secured a 6-0 win over Fairford Town Academy.

Having already won their opening four league and cup encounters, United got off to the best possible start at South Devon College on Saturday morning, as Kai Swann fired his side in front to break the deadlock from the penalty spot.

Jacob Wellington was next to profit for the goal-hungry Gulls to double the advantage, before Swann notched his second of the game shortly after.

In scenes similar to what would be played out at Plainmoor later that afternoon, Torquay forged well clear of their opponents by the halfway stage, with Riley Crawford on hand to give the team a four-goal lead at the break.

The second-half wasn’t quite so one-sided, however the team in yellow remained on top, with Will Brennan making it 5-0 following the change of ends.

There was still time for one more goal, with Charlie Wills continuing his recent run of goalscoring form by scoring United’s sixth, and final goal, to round off a thoroughly comprehensive outing for the Young Gulls.

This Thursday, United’s Youth Team will be looking to match their senior counterparts by continuing their FA Youth Cup progression, as they take on Falmouth Town at Buckland Athletic’s Homers Heath ground (05/10/23 7pm KO).
