As the season nears its conclusion, the Yellow Army have their last chance to vote for their Player and Young Player of the Season, with the vote closing at 5pm today (Wednesday 12/04/23).
Last year’s Player of the Season accolade was awarded to former United goalkeeper Shaun MacDonald, meanwhile the Young Player of the Year award went to then United defender Joe Lewis.
As the current campaign reaches its conclusion, the Yellow Army have their opportunity to recognise the individuals that impressed them the most.
The 2022/23 Player of the Season award, is open to players who have featured ten or more times across the season, meanwhile the Young Player of the Season award is for those aged 23 and under as of the first game of the season (6th August 2022).
With both awards once again sponsored by Torbay Weekly, this year the Yellow Army will be able to submit their votes in both categories online here.
The awards are due to be presented at the York City game this Saturday 15th April (3pm KO).
Despite what has proven to be a testing 2022/23 campaign, a whole host of Gulls players have continued to wear the yellow shirt with distinction, and therefore there is no shortage of worthy winners for United’s supporters to choose from, with United boss Gary Johnson highlighting the pride and importance of winning this award.
“It’s always a great accolade to be voted Player of the Year by your supporters, and whoever wins it – and I’m sure there’s a few candidates – will be honoured to receive it.”
