Torquay United AFC is pleased to announce its first shirt raffle of 2023/24, which is in support of former Gulls ace Paul Holmes.
Attacking right-back Holmes enjoyed two four-year stints at Plainmoor between 1988-1992 and 1999-2003 during a memorable playing career which also included spells at Doncaster, Birmingham, Everton and West Brom.
It was with much shock and sadness that supporters, staff and his teammates at his former Clubs learned of Paul’s recent cancer diagnosis, however with the ‘Footballing Family’ once again uniting together in typical fashion to support one of their own, this signed shirt auction is one of a number of events planned to aid ‘Holmesy’ at this time.
With all funds raised directly benefitting Paul and his family, TUAFC is pleased to launch an online raffle for a 2023/24 signed home shirt, with tickets priced at £2 each and available to purchase online HERE.
Please note that the raffle is done electronically, so no physical raffle ticket will be issued, you will receive an electronic receipt which will be your proof of purchase.
Join Us For An Afternoon For Holmesy!
In addition to this raffle, TUAFC will be hosting a very special afternoon in Boots & Laces on Sunday 10th September 2023, with a number of former Gulls stars already signing up to be in attendance at Plainmoor for ‘An Afternoon For Holmesy’.
In addition to other fundraising events schedules on the day, supporters will also have the chance to listen to the likes of Darren Moore, Paul Hall, Sean Joyce and Russell Musker, Matt Elliot and others talk about their time at Plainmoor alongside Paul, who was famously part of the United side that won promotion against Blackpool at Wembley in 1991.
Taking place in Boots & Laces from 2pm, entrance will be via ticket only, with doors opening at 1pm.
